International Scholarship

The Honda International Center administers the following scholarship opportunities for International Students:

The Kapi`olani International Scholarships are i ntended to support the University of Hawai‘i‘s recognized mission to provide relevant education and training to those who will assume positions of leadership and service in the Pacific and Asia region, as well as around the world by providing financial assistance to cover a portion of tuition.  There are three categories of scholarships:

• International Student Academic Achievement Scholarship: Applicants must be a Classified full-time student in a degree seeking program with a minimum GPA of 3.25; be an International Student (non-immigrant status); earned at least 12 credits at KCC; and submit a personal statement addressing any extracurricular activities/accomplishments, participation in volunteer programs, as well as educational and career goals. • International Student Leadership & Service Scholarship: Applicants must be a Classified full-time student in a degree seeking program with a minimum GPA of 2.50; be an International Student (non-immigrant status); earned at least 12 credits at KCC; and demonstrate  outstanding leadership and service to the community as described in a personal statement detailing their extracurricular activities/accomplishments, and participation in volunteer programs (i.e. Service Learning, International Club, etc.); as well as educational and career goals. • New International Student Scholarship: Applicants must be accepted to Kapi`olani Community College (KCC home institution); classified with a non-immigrant classification status (A, E, F, H, J, K, etc.) and excluding those individuals eligible for resident tuition; applicant must be a 197 student or enrolled in at least 12 credits in a credit program.
