Campus ID Services
All new, incoming students and faculty/staff are entitled to one Kapiolani Community College (KCC) ID card at no charge. Each type of ID card is specific to the individual's status at KCC and entitles the cardholder to certain college privileges and benefits.
Any holds or financial obligations, including tuition and fees must be cleared before an ID card will be issued or validated.
Students Must:
- Complete and sign the Student ID Application Form. The ID Registration Form is available in PDF format for you to view, fill out, and print if you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. See "Download Acrobat Reader" under the Related Links section.
- You must include your UH ID Number on the registration form.
- Present a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport).
- Any holds or financial obligations, including tuition and fees must be cleared before an ID card will be issued.
To locate your UH ID number, go to “Managing Your UH Username” under Related Links section. When you login your UH ID is right underneath your name, it is an 8-digit number.
Validation:
- Returning students must validate their ID's every semester.
- Any holds or financial obligations, including tuition and fees must be cleared before an ID card will be validated.
- Go to the ID Desk or Cashier's Office for validation.
Continuing Education Students:
Students enrolled in continuing education courses are entitled to a Student ID card, valid for the duration of their course.
Each department or program will issue a memo (or some other form of verification) to the participant after they have registered and paid the appropriate charges for their course. ID cards for continuing education classes are valid from the first to last day of their course(s).
Continuing Education ID applicants must provide a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport) with an identification number.
The Continuing Education ID card expires on the date printed on the card. Expired ID cards are renewable. The $5.00 replacement fee is waived provided that the expired card is submitted to the ID Desk at time of renewal.
Faculty/Staff Must:
- Complete and sign a Staff ID Application Form. The ID Registration Form is available in PDF format for you to view, fill out, and print.
- You must include your UH ID Number on the registration form.
- Present a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport).
- Application must be approved by Human Resources.
Non-Regular Employees (Casual Hires, Emergency Hires, Lecturers and Visiting Colleagues) Must:
- Complete and sign a Staff ID Application Form. The ID Registration Form is available in PDF format for you to view, fill out, and print.
- An expiration date must be listed on your application. NO EXCEPTIONS! Expired cards can be renewed and are replaced free of charge, providing the expired card is submitted to the ID Office at time of renewal. Otherwise, there will be a $5.00 replacement charge at time of renewal.
- You must include your UH ID Number on the registration form.
- Present a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport).
- Application must be approved by Human Resources.
Important Information
All identification cards issued by the Access Services Department are the property of KCC. The ID card is for the card holder's personal use only. Therefore, services covered by this card are not transferable to other individuals. The holder's ID card must be presented or surrendered upon request by any officer or authorized employee of the University of Hawaii System.
Required: Applicants with sunglasses, hats, caps, bandanas, etc. will need to remove them before taking their photo
Uses Include:
- Library privileges at all UH System Libraries
- Access to KCC's Open Computer Labs
- Self-service Photocopy and Printing Services
- Purchase of UPass (TheBus University Bus Pass Program)
- Discounted memberships at the Honolulu Academy of Arts and the Contemporary Museum Honolulu
Replacement Fee: $5.00 replacement fee for lost, stolen, or mutilated cards. An ID card will be considered mutilated if it is perforated (hole punched), bears unauthorized markings, or is affixed with any stickers other than the UPass.
Staff reserve the right to refuse: To issue or validate an ID card to any person who does not comply with the listed requirements.
Register your KCC ID with the Library:
- The Libraries of the UH System prefer a valid/current UH System ID for borrowing privileges & requires it during system outages.
- ID registration is required for access to restricted online library resources.
